You Did It!

“You did it!”

I said that to Gracie the other day when she drank out of a straw. I wouldn’t say I was worried that she hadn’t gotten it but because the internet says they should have it by a certain age and it should only take a certain amount of time, I was aware of it.

We all know that what you read on the internet is 110% proof, right?!

We’ve been {kinda} working on it for a bit. I’d give it to her and she’d just chew on it. We’d try again with a different cup and she’d pretend and then every so gracefully throw it on the ground.

Until one day I tried again and like a pro she got it!

“You did it!” - imagine that being said in that totally mom high-pitched excited voice. You’re welcome.

She smiled. I smiled. And then we went on to eat our snack.

As we were eating I thought - can we keep those little celebrations going as adults? As business owners?

Instead of completely ignoring the fact that we finally figured something out or we by pass the fact that we hit a big goal - we pause and say, “I did it!”

It doesn’t have to be massive, it can be small:

  • Figuring out a plug-in on your website

  • Responding to the email you’ve waited 4 days to type out

  • Spelling entrepreneur correctly on the first try

  • Finishing your workday after you’ve finished what you needed to and not feeling guilty

  • Seeing your employee fix an issue by using your processes instead of first coming to you

  • Actually taking a lunch break

Just think of how many little celebrations you could have in just one day!

What’s something that you did today that you want to celebrate? I'd love to hear and clap it up with you!
