Meet My Friend, Voxer!

Breaker breaker 19…

Anyone else remember using walkie-talkies as kids?

Did you know you can enjoy them as a business owner, too?

Meet Voxer! Voxer lets you send real-time voice memos and videos to other Voxer members.

Ugh, another thing! Yes, it seems like we’re always adding apps and tools and such. But, sometimes it’s what you need to be more efficient in your biz!

Today I wanted to share how I was introduced to Voxer and how I utilize it for my business...

When I hired my current coach it was in her contract as a form of communication between our sessions. It didn't include texting or random phone calls. I immediately thought...way to go on those boundaries 👏🏿👏🏼👏🏽.

In between our coaching session and check-ins I utilize Voxer with her by asking a question, sharing a quick win, or talking through a situation I’ve stumbled upon.

The fact that I can verbalize what I want to say sometimes helps me answer my own question, but also allows me to give enough info and not type a long email. (Fun fact - I’m the type of person who would rather jump on a call to work through something rather than send 347 text messages back and forth. It me!) She then gets back to me on her time throughout the day.

This last week we were working on a big project together and it was such a time saver because she would send over what she was working on and then explain it within Voxer. So, I would pull up the document she sent and listen to her explain her thoughts and what feedback she needed from me.

She was able to get real-time feedback, make edits instantly, and I was able to hear her thoughts and reasonings behind things as I was looking at it all while being at the comfort of our own home offices!

When I started doing more one-on-one coaching I added the same thing to my offerings and have loved it. Clients know they can send a Voxer message any time of the day and I’ll respond between 9-4 during the week. They’re more than welcome to send it at night or on the weekend, but I set the expectation that I won’t get to it right away.

And, there’s something about it not being a text message notification staring at me to feel like I have to answer it right away. I can see it pop up as a notification and then get to after I’m finished with my task.

It’s been a great way for clients to share thoughts on something in between our sessions so that way when we get on our calls we get to the deeper and actionable stuff quicker.

So - that’s a fun little intro to Voxer! Yes, there are a ton of others out there (Marco Polo, Telegram, WhatsApp, Zello, insert even more here) but this has worked well for me, and wanted to share with you!

Do you use anything like this or are you team no more things 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏽‍♂️?
