‘Processes For Your Business’ Starter Pack!

Do you know what can be limiting when growing/managing your team?

Not having processes so that your team can thrive and you can not be on call 24/7 and actually enjoy a day off.

Do you know what can be intimidating? 

Staring at a white sheet of paper and not having any idea of where to start.

So, here’s a list of potential processes that you and your team (or future team) could benefit from.

BUT WAIT!

Before you jump down to this list. I encourage you to just read through them. Determine what could be for you and what isn’t. 

Then look at what could help a situation that continuously pisses you off or annoys you (see the “If you’re bored” checklist as that is a big one for owners these days)

Now make note of the ones that would benefit you and do them 1 at a time or block off a chunk of time and knock some out. OR if you have an employee that’s already doing the task… assign it to them!

Running the business as a brick and mortar and if you sell items:

  • Opening checklist

  • Closing checklist

  • How To’s of the items on checklists

  • How to use the register

  • Cleaning Duties + Schedule

  • Order forms (actual lists for orders/contact info/ordering schedule)

  • Inventory lists (what it is, when to order, who to alert, etc.)

  • The verbiage of answering the phone and/or welcoming customers

  • Returns/Exchanges

  • Process from receiving inventory to putting it out in your store

  • “If you’re bored” checklist

Marketing: 

  • Social media posting (when/where/who)

  • Creation/organization/posting of a blog

  • Website maintenance

  • Tracking any metrics

  • Product photography

  • Traveling for special events/speaking engagements

  • Hosting an event

Finance: 

  • How to Invoice

  • Tracking any metrics/sales numbers in your system

  • Running reports in your POS and/or Quickbooks

  • Updated Google Sheet/Excel

  • Paying bills

  • Profit First Distribution

Human Resources: 

  • Updating employee benefits/insurance

  • Creating any needed contracts

  • Employee evaluations (when are they/agenda/follow up steps)

Okay, remember what I said above.
