Are you telling people that you’re open for business?

Are you telling people that you’re open for business?

Build it and they will come might’ve worked for the Field of Dreams.

But, that’s not exactly how it works in business these days.

There is so much competition out there, so we have to find some kind of way for people to find us, trust us, and thennnn maybe buy from us.

Find a way for us to showcase who we are, our values, our differentiators, and how we can solve customers’ pain points.

If you’re a seasoned business owner, this tends to come a lot quicker because of the network and reputation that you’ve probably built over the years.

For a new business, this may take some work because nobody knows who you are or what you sell.

At the end of the day, both need to let people know that they’re actually in business.

Now, it’s one thing to be open for business (business name, website, social media channel), but it’s another thing to be open for business.

While you’ve taken the brave step to put yourself out there and start your business - doesn’t mean customers are just going to stumble upon you. That’s probably not how you’ve found some of the products and services you’ve purchased…

You may have heard about it from a friend, read about it on a blog, scrolled past their social media post, downloaded a freebie to see what they actually know, attended a masterclass, listened to them on a podcast, or met them at a networking event.

All of those are ways people learn that you’re open for business.

Then to take it a step further you have to build trust with them and tell them how to work with you.

Show them who you are, what you’re about, what problems you solve, where your expertise lies, what you value, what kind of vibe you put off, what services you offer, and how they can work with you.

We can’t assume that just because we’ve started our business that people are going to find us and more importantly buy from us.

And if you’re sitting around waiting for the sales to come in without doing any of the following (or the many other ways to build value) then you may be chillin all by yourself for a bit.

In what ways do you let people know you’re open for business?
